Moab Skydiving makes your special day as adventurous and unforgettable as your love. If your love story is anything but ordinary, why should your wedding day be? Imagine standing side by side, hearts racing, the breathtaking red cliffs of Moab below, and taking the literal leap into forever together.
For couples who crave adrenaline, adventure, and meaning, skydiving in Moab isn’t just an elopement idea — it’s an experience you’ll never forget.

If you’re wondering where to skydive in Moab, the answer is simple — Skydive Moab. This locally owned and operated drop zone has been running for over 20 years and has built a stellar reputation for both safety and pure adrenaline-fueled fun.
Skydive Moab is located at Canyonlands Airport, about 16 miles north of downtown Moab.
They offer some of the highest and most affordable jumps in the country and have been voted one of the top 10 most scenic skydiving centers in the world. From the moment you take off, you’ll be surrounded by sweeping views of red rock cliffs, winding canyons, and the Colorado River — an incredible backdrop for couples who want to quite literally take the leap together.

I usually recommend doing skydiving earlier in the morning, when the weather tends to be calmer and more predictable. Start your elopement day with your hair and makeup artist creating a fun updo or look that will hold up for the adventure ahead. Then, you and your partner can leap together in coordinated, comfortable “wedding” outfits — think matching black-and-white or other fun, photogenic attire. Not only does it make for an unforgettable experience, but it also creates incredible photos that capture the thrill and joy of your special day.
After your jump, we can head back to your Airbnb for a bit to relax, grab a bite to eat, and have your hair and makeup refreshed for the rest of the day. Later, we can hike to a stunning location for your ceremony and vow exchange. I highly recommend Wild Brides Backcountry for hair and makeup. They not only do incredible hair and makeup, but they also travel with you for your entire elopement day, so you’ll stay looking and feeling your best from start to finish.

Your jump day is where the adventure really begins! Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect when you head out to Skydive Moab for your once-in-a-lifetime leap.
A $50 deposit per person is required to reserve your jump (refundable if you cancel within 48 hours or if weather cancels your flight), plus a $5 non-refundable booking fee per person. Make sure to eat a light breakfast, because you’ll feel better with something in your stomach, even if you’re nervous. If you plan to take anti-nausea medication, follow the directions carefully.
Dress for the weather, as temperatures at altitude can be 20+° cooler than on the ground. Wear athletic, closed-toe shoes and layers if it’s chilly, or shorts if it’s hot. Wedding attire isn’t allowed, but this is a great opportunity to wear matching, comfortable outfits. When you arrive, call 435-259-5867 at the gate so a team member can escort you to the hangar, located just past the main terminal.

When you arrive at the dropzone, you’ll fill out a quick waiver and watch a short safety video. The hangar has a relaxed, family-friendly vibe, so spectators are welcome. After paying your remaining balance and selecting any photo or video packages, you’ll be paired with your instructor and prepared for your jump. Your instructor (or a staff member) will fit your skydiving harness and walk you through everything you need to know, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable. Depending on flight schedules and weather, there may be a short wait before your turn. Most skydives are completed within about two hours, but plan to spend up to four hours.

Once you board the plane, it’s about a 15–20 minute flight to altitude. Then comes the main event, where you get up to 55 seconds of freefall, followed by 5 minutes of gliding under the parachute before landing. I will be waiting in the landing area to watch you touch down and capture it all. If you want an extra thrill for a friend, one person can ride along in the co-pilot’s seat (age 18+, must wear a parachute, $60 fee, and they do not jump).

Excited to skydive, but not sure where to start? Here are a few tips to make it happen:
Prepare for the weather: Moab’s conditions can change quickly, so build in flexibility for your jump time.
Book early with a trusted local company like Skydive Moab. They’re experienced, safety-focused, and know how to make the jump unforgettable.
Choose the right time of day: Early morning offers better weather.
Keep your outfits simple: Flowing dresses or loose items won’t work mid-air, but you can bring your elopement attire for portraits afterward, or wear coordinated black-and-white outfits for the jump itself.
October is ideal: October offers stunning desert scenery with golden yellow trees, and sometimes even better pricing since it’s off-season for tourism.

Skydiving is the ultimate way to celebrate love and adventure together. Imagine freefalling side by side, with the vibrant red rocks, winding canyons, and the La Sal Mountains stretching out beneath you, and iconic national parks like Arches and Canyonlands unfolding from a breathtaking new perspective. It’s a view you’ll never forget—and the perfect backdrop for epic, once-in-a-lifetime photos. With experienced local instructors guiding the way, even first-time skydivers can relax and soak in the thrill, making it a shared adventure that’s equal parts heart-pounding and unforgettable.

If you’re all about connection, adventure, and intention, skydiving in Moab can make your elopement unforgettable.
As your Moab photographer and planning guide, I’ll help with it all and capture every thrilling moment, so you can focus on the experience together.
