As I stood on the red rock cliff as an Adventure Wedding Photographer, I knew I was destined to capture non-traditional love stories.
Most importantly, love stories as wild as the eloping couple standing before me.
It’s never been just about taking beautiful photos in epic places. It’s about giving couples permission to do things their way and creating a day that feels like them.
However, it wasn’t always this way.
I’ve paved my path, led by the belief that the most meaningful moments are the deeply personal ones.
This quote by Ansel Adams has always stuck with me:
“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.” — Ansel Adams
This quote speaks exactly to what I strive for in every frame. I don’t just document your once-in-a-lifetime day, I capture the emotion within it. So, you can feel it all over again each time you look back at the photos on your walls.
As an Adventure Wedding Photographer, I pour my heart and soul into helping couples break free from traditions that don’t resonate with them.
I guide them in creating a wedding day that feels like home, wherever that may be, and deliver a gallery filled with emotion. These photos allow them to relive the most meaningful moments for the rest of their lives.
But first, let’s back it up for a second. You are probably wondering, “How did I become a wedding photographer in the first place?”…
My journey began in a small town tucked away in the heart of Iowa. I started out second-shooting a wedding for a friend—I had no idea what a “typical” wedding day even looked like. The love in the room was undeniable, and I remember thinking: I never want to leave this feeling.
The feeling wasn’t fleeting…
However, the deeper I dove into photographing traditional weddings, the more I felt my heart tug in a different direction.
I knew I loved storytelling—quietly capturing the intimate and in-between moments, like a fly on the wall. Something shifted within me the day I got in my car and decided to take a chance on myself.
I packed up my red SUV, plugged in the destination, and hit the road. Over 1,000 miles. A 14-hour drive. Plenty of “Am I doing the right thing?” thoughts.
I will never forget the moment that changed everything for me.
Standing at the edge of a breathtaking red rock canyon, I felt it in my bones. My calling wasn’t to capture traditional wedding timelines and Pinterest-perfect poses. It was to capture love stories written your way— non-traditional and wildly authentic.
At that moment, I knew I could never return to being anything other than an Adventure Wedding Photographer.
That moment was beyond pivotal and truly changed the direction of my career leading to a massive rebrand.
However, I didn’t just rebrand.
I said “screw the rulebook” and rebuilt a photography business for couples who want the real stuff. The adventure elopements and intimate weddings soaked in moments of meaning, epic views, and zero expectations. If it’s not authentic, outdoorsy, or wildly you? We’re not doing it.
And just like that, Forever Framed by Rachel was born.
The name came from my heart with a blend of everything I value as an Adventure Wedding Photographer.
Epic love stories rooted in nature, framed by connection, full of intention, and the freedom to do things your way.
It’s more than just taking beautiful images—it’s about capturing and framing the moments that matter most to you.
I capture the kind of love that doesn’t follow trends but tells a story that feels authentically you and lives on through every frame in your home.
It speaks to exactly what I strive for in every frame to not just document your day, but to capture the emotion within it. So, you can feel it all over again each time you look back.
My mission as an Adventure Wedding Photographer is for every couple to know this:
You can create a wedding day (or days—because why the heck not?) that feels like it was ripped straight from your love story. One that’s true to you, not shaped by tradition or expectations.
You get to write the rules here.
Consider this your permission slip to ditch tradition and plan a wedding that feels like you.
If you’re ready to ditch the rulebook and create a wedding day that feels like you, I’m your photo bestie ready to chase the views, help plan the magic, and frame it forever.
